Fire & Security Commissioning Technician
StarComms Fire, Security and Networking Solutions is looking for an experienced Senior Commissioning Technician to join our dynamic team. The purpose will be to lead installation technicians in the deployment of Fire detection and suppression installation and projects as well as security systems to achieve high quality solution delivery to our clients.

The ideal Candidate
We are looking for a confident and experienced technically minded individual with installation and commissioning orientated focus. You will be responsible for the on-site deployment of a complete installation including planning, deployment and commissioning. Your methodologies will be centred around efficiency, accuracy and attention to detail while ensuring the required scope of work is delivered to the satisfaction of the client, exceeding the required minimum standards set out in the codes.

Responsibilities
• Installation planning, delivery and commissioning
• Administrative duties related to installation
• Installation of Fire detection cable infrastructure, hardware, devices, systems and software
• Installation of Fire suppression infrastructure, hardware, devices, systems and software
• Programming and configuration of various panels and software applications
• Commissioning of addressable and conventional fire systems
• End-to-end successful completion of projects
• Customer engagement and project updates related to projects
• Reading, understanding and deploying solutions from drawings and specifications
• Compiling as-built documentation and hand-over administrative deliverables
• Fault-finding and remedy of existing systems
• New installations, add-ons and changes to fire systems

Skills and experience
Required
• Matric or equivalent qualification
• Valid South African Drivers licence
• Valid SAQCC Commissioner accreditation
• 5+ Years experience in the installation of fire systems
• 2+ Years experience in the commissioning of fire systems
• Valid PSIRA registration
• No criminal record
• Certified training completed on as a minimum:
• Ziton (Panels and Software)
• Technoswitch
• Familiar with SANS10139, SANS246, SANS322 compliance requirements
• A proven traceable track record of past experience
Beneficial
• Security systems experience and/or qualifications
• Network infrastructure experience and/or qualifications
• ATS Software certification and experience
